Lauantaina 25.5.2013 järjestetään valtakunnallinen Siivouspäivä. Kuka tahansa voi perustaa päiväksi kirpputorin ja tiedottaa siitä siivouspäivä.org-nettisivulla.
Eniten ostajia ja myyjiä löytyy joen toiselta puolelta, Yo-kylästä. Länsipuolella on pihakirppis, grillausta ja rentoa oleilua kello 12 alkaen. Tapahtumapaikka on Inspehtorinkatu 4B, entinen VY:n rakennus, nykyisin Yo-kylän länsipuolen asukastoimikunnan kerhotila. Asukastoimikunta tarjoaa muutamia myyntipöytiä ensimmäisenä saapuville.
Yo-kylän itäpuolella pidetään pihakirppiksiä talojen 25B ja 30B välisellä kulkuväylällä kello 11-16. Itäpuolen asukastoimikunta tarjoaa virvokkeita.
Kumpaankaan Yo-kylän pihakirppikseen ei tarvita ennakkoilmoittautumista - kanna vain tavarasi joen toiselle puolelle ja laita ne esille, miten parhaaksi katsot! Sadekuurojen varalta kannattaa ottaa mukaan jotain, minkä voi levittää tavaroiden suojaksi sateen ajaksi.
Saturday, 25 May is the nationwide Cleanup Day. Anyone can set up their own flea market and advertise it on the website siivouspäivä.org (also in English).
More customers and sellers will gather on the other side of the river, in the Student Village. In Student Village West there will be outdoor flea market, BBQ and hanging around with friends, starting at 12 o'clock. The place is Inspehtorinkatu 4B, previous building of the Tenants' Association, nowadays Common Room of Student Village West. The tenants' committee of Student Village West will provide some tables for the first arriving sellers.
In Student Village East the flea market avenue will reach from 25B to 30B from 11am to 4pm. The tenants' committee of Student Village East will provide snacks and refreshments.
You don't need to sign up anywhere - just carry your stuff to the other side of the river and put them on display as you like! It is wise to take something waterproof with you, so you can cover your stuff in case of rain.
